More Reminders...
Hello All BGL Team Staff,
The following are some important reminders as we've seen some issues unfolding during the start of the season:
- All off-ice minor officials (ex: box workers) for league games would be provided by the home team.
- The game sheets must be recorded correctly. This includes recording times of goals and penalties. Please ensure your families have reviewed the instructions on how to complete an official Ringette Alberta Game Sheet. These instructions can be found on the BGL website on the HOW TO REPORT A SCORE webpage. Please forward this information to all your families so that they can familiarize themselves before game time.
- Please note that U10 half ice games use the Simplified Game Sheets for Half-Ice and Cross Ice games, and less reporting is required.
- How will I enter missing information from the Game Sheet into Ramp? As HOME team, if there is information missing from the game sheet that needs to be entered on the BGL game reporting, you will need to contact the AWAY team manager/head coach to come to an agreement on the missing information.
- What if the jersey numbers on the Game sheet do not match the roster numbers on Ramp? The jersey numbers should never be changed on Ramp as this is how the data per player is stored; rather cross reference using the player names from the game sheet and website. Unfortunately, sometimes teams have different or loose jerseys that they move around between the teams. The one constant though on a roster is the player's name. Therefore, you should always just cross reference and enter the goals, penalties, etc going by the player's name. We have even had some association's get new jersey's part way through a season and the numbers change. That is why we always need to just go by player name in this scenario.
- I am VISITOR team and I have to keep checking to see if the Home team has done it's reporting so that I can verify the entry. Is there a way I can be notified by the website when the Home team entry is done? The home team only has 24 hours post game to finish entry of the gamesheet. Anything after that is considered late. So as a Visitor team manager, I would only check at a minimum 24 hours later, and if it's not done at that time - put in an error report message on the game within Ramp verification process - because it's late by the Home team. The BGL Statistician checks on things daily and will let people know when they are not on time. If it becomes frequent by a team, they will be assessed a late fine.
- I have questions about league stuff, who should I contact? You should always FIRST contact your association's BGL Representative and they will make contact with the league executive if further assistance or clarification is required.
Thank you all for your assistance, understanding, and patience,
Best Regards,
Rhonda Kew, BGL Webmaster and Statistician
